Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Resonance System Requirements
GTX 1060 minimum, RTX 3060 Ti recommended, 75 GB SSD required.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a Zouna-engine cinematic action game. Steam’s official PC spec is milder than the island looks. You do not need frame generation to hit the stated targets. You do need 16 GB of RAM, DirectX 12.1, Shader Model 6.6, a 4-core / 8-thread CPU, and an SSD. HDD installs are not supported in the notes.
This page copies the Steam table, then adds platform notes. Bindings are on controls. Console modes, Deck notes, and Game Pass hitching are on performance. Whether the game is for you is on reviews.
Minimum (1080p, 30 FPS, Low, no upscaler required)
- OS: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 or Intel Core i3-12100
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: 6 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
- DirectX: 12
- Storage: 75 GB SSD
Official FAQ copy before launch estimated about 76 GB. Steam’s live number is 75 GB available space. Leave headroom for shaders.
Recommended (1080p, 60 FPS, Ultra, no upscaler required)
- OS: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Intel Core i5-12400F
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: 8 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
- DirectX: 12
- Storage: 75 GB SSD
If you want 4K Ultra, that is beyond Asobo’s published rows. Community configs point at much newer GPUs and 32 GB of RAM. Treat those as opinion, not as a second official table.
Consoles and stores
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store). Day-one Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Xbox Play Anywhere between Xbox and the Microsoft PC app. Steam Cloud is its own save family. The campaign is single-player only, so the spec does not change for extra local players.
Steam Deck: Playable. Verify community layouts and expect 30 FPS class performance, not the recommended 60 Ultra line.
Settings that actually matter
Sportskeeda’s launch optimization notes: the title is demanding if you push resolution, but a few heavy sliders drop more frame time than they drop image quality. Start on the preset that matches your GPU row, then lower shadows and volumetric effects before you touch character models. HDR is a Steam feature flag; enable it only if your display is actually HDR.
A controller is recommended even on a high-end PC. Spec does not fix a missed parry. Read controls after the download finishes.
Price and install size versus time
$49.99 on PC, $59.99 on consoles at launch. Story length 11–15 hours, closer to 20 with collectables. You are not installing a live-service client. Once the 75 GB is down, you are in the beginner guide.
If the box fails the CPU thread count or the DX12.1 line, do not buy on hope. If the box meets minimum and you are willing to play at 30 FPS Low, the game will boot. If you are on Game Pass, test the first chapter before you worry about Ultra. After the download, bind parry separately from interact using the controls page so the first Venice fight is not a key-conflict mess.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Will a GTX 1060 3GB work?
Steam's minimum is 6 GB VRAM on the 1060 / 5500 XT line. A 3GB card is below spec.
Is an SSD really required?
Yes. The additional notes say SSD required. Streaming island geometry is not an HDD feature.
Does Game Pass PC use the same spec?
Yes. It is the same build family on Windows. Play Anywhere saves do not lower the GPU requirement.
Mac or Linux?
Steam lists Windows only. No official Mac or Linux spec.
