Patch Notes

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launched on 27 August 2026. As of the last days of August, Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio had not posted a numbered day-one or week-one patch file that changes collectables, stagger windows, or PC presets. This page is the live bulletin: the launch build, the known issues, and where a future patch row will go. Treat launch notes as the storefront brief. Treat this page as the “is it patched yet” check.

Until a numbered notes post lands on Steam News or Focus’s site, the walkthrough and trophies pages use the 27 August ruleset: 14 chapters, 165 missable Resonance Points, chapter select for everything else.

What the launch build is

Single-player campaign on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store). Day-one Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Xbox Play Anywhere between Xbox consoles and the Microsoft PC app. Steam Cloud is a different pipe. Epic is a different pipe.

The game went gold on 3 July 2026, which is why the August date held. A launch trailer premiered at gamescom Opening Night Live on 25 August. Steam’s launch-day user mix sat Very Positive, about 92 percent of more than 1,500 reviews. Metacritic at review time split roughly 78 on PS5, 84 on Xbox Series, 85 on PC. OpenCritic’s recommend rate sat in the low-to-mid 80s. Score shopping belongs on the review roundup.

The Heritage Pack remains pre-order DLC, not a day-one content drop. The European Collector Box is merchandise with deliveries scheduled from the end of October, not a gameplay patch. Details stay on Heritage Pack.

Known issues in week one

Game Pass PC hitching. The Microsoft Store build does not run Steam’s shader pre-warm. First visits to a region can hitch. Workarounds players are using: disable frame generation, turn v-sync on or use an external cap, and let the first pass compile. Full preset advice is on performance.

Steam Deck. Steam lists the game as Playable. Steam Deck HQ’s launch review held 30 FPS in most areas, with CPU spikes and a crash at the start of Chapter 9 after a cutscene. Save extra often around Night Has Come if you are on handheld.

Console. Digital Foundry’s technical review called the game a visual leap for Asobo and logged camera clipping plus isolated software crashes that rarely wrecked a session. Base PS5 and Series X offer 30, 40, and 60 FPS modes. PS5 Pro adds PSSR options. Series S holds 1080p. Those mode tables belong on the performance page, not here.

PCGamesN mentioned a few game-breaking bugs and keybind friction in an otherwise positive 8/10. If your bind for interact also throws a knife at the worst time, open controls and split those actions if the menu allows.

None of those reports, as of 31 August 2026, came with an official numbered patch. If Asobo ships one that changes Like a Warrior math, charm locations, or a Chapter 9 crash, it will be a new row on this page, not a silent rewrite of every guide.

Accessibility shipped in the launch build

Focus posted an accessibility blog on 24 August 2026, three days before launch. The live game includes adjustable difficulty at any time, subtitle and caption options, colour alternatives, camera comfort, and a way to reduce or remove some timed-input prompts. Puzzle companion chatter can be turned down; IGN did that immediately. Combat still asks for a parry or a dodge. Resonance is not a walking sim with a story overlay.

If a future patch adds a full remap overhaul or a story-mode auto-parry, that belongs here. Until then, the pause menu is the patch.

How this hub will log updates

  1. Official numbered notes get a dated heading and a short “what changed for players” list.
  2. Store-only hotfixes that only bump a build number get a one-line row.
  3. Guide-breaking changes (collectables, trophy tracking, stagger) trigger edits on collectibles and trophies the same day.
  4. Soundtrack and Collector Box news stay on their own pages, not in patch tables.

Official storefronts and support URLs sit on official links. Support contacts remain support.focus-entmt.com and support@focusent.com. This wiki is unofficial.

If you installed on launch weekend and the game boots, you are on the build these guides describe. Look for the light. Spend points on purpose. Check this page again if a Steam News post titled “Patch” appears.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is there a day-one patch?

No numbered notes file had been posted by the end of August 2026. The launch build is the live ruleset for this wiki.

Will a patch fix Game Pass stuttering?

Not announced. Try the performance workarounds first: no frame generation, v-sync or an external cap, first-pass shaders.

Did trophies change after launch?

No. 36 Steam / Xbox achievements, 37 on PlayStation including platinum. Like a Warrior still needs 165 points in one run.

Where do official notes appear?

Steam News for app 2713000, Focus Entertainment's site, and @APlagueTale. This page will quote them when they exist.
