Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Resonance Heritage Pack

What the pre-order DLC actually adds, and what it does not.

Heritage Pack

The Heritage Pack is the pre-order bonus for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Focus Entertainment’s FAQ and Xbox Wire copy list three extras: the Minoan Sword (also called Hero’s Blade in some storefronts), Alec’s Pendant, and a 30-plus-page in-game artbook. This page is the contents list. Sword ranking sits on blades. Story on Alec sits lightly on companions.

You do not need this pack to finish the campaign, to unlock Like a Warrior, or to collect the eight base blades. It is cosmetic-and-collectable DLC, not a story expansion.

What is inside

Minoan Sword / Hero’s Blade. An extra sword with its own perk. If it is in your inventory from Chapter 1, you can use it instead of the Rusty Sword. If you do not own the pack, Chapter 2’s Falchion is your first real steel. Trophy lists that name eight blades are talking about the base graves, not this ninth weapon.

Alec’s Pendant. A keepsake named for family. It is flavor and collection, not a second skill tree. Do not expect it to replace Resonance Points.

In-game artbook. Thirty-plus pages. Read it from the menu. It is not a puzzle hint book, though concept art can make fresco rooms easier to recognize. For actual solutions, use puzzles.

Steam listed a DLC app associated with the title (package data showed a linked DLC id). If you bought the game after launch without the pack, check the store page for a paid Heritage Pack before you assume the sword is missing because of a bug.

What the pack is not

It is not a season pass. It is not a New Game+ mode. It is not required for Game Pass players to “complete” the story. It is not the European physical Collector Box (statues and discs, deliveries after launch). Do not confuse merch windows with in-game DLC.

How it interacts with this wiki

Collectibles counts 8 base blades and notes the ninth. Trophies does not require the pack. Getting started mentions it so pre-order owners know to look in the menu. Launch notes mention it as a bonus, not as a gate.

If you are installing from Game Pass and the sword is absent, you are not broken. Buy the pack or ignore it. The island’s real power is still Arm Bands, Echo’s Return, and 165 Resonance Points, none of which are DLC.

Pre-order bonuses exist to make storefront tiles busy. Play the campaign either way. Spend time on the walkthrough before you spend money on a ninth sword.

If the pack is already in your library, open the menu after Chapter 1 and confirm the Minoan Sword sits beside the Rusty Sword. Equip it only if the in-game perk text beats what you are holding. Then forget the storefront and go hunt Arm Bands on the charms tier list. That is the upgrade that actually changes Venice rooftops, not a pre-order blade. If a future store sale bundles the pack cheaper than a coffee, buy it for the artbook; do not stall Chapter 2 waiting for a sword that the Falchion is about to replace anyway.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is the Heritage Pack required?

No. The story, puzzles, and eight base blades are in the full game.

What do I get?

Minoan Sword, Alec's Pendant, and a 30-plus-page in-game artbook.

I bought the game on Game Pass. Where is the sword?

The pack is a pre-order / extra DLC. Game Pass includes the campaign, not automatically this bonus.

Does the Minoan Sword break the combat?

No. It is an extra perk blade. Skills on the skills page still matter more.
