Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Theseus's Echoes in Resonance

Five ceremonial bowls, five Pierced Coin Charms, and the trophy that ties the dual-timeline story together.

Theseus's Echoes (Pierced Coins)

Theseus’s Echoes are the five Pierced Coin Charms hidden inside the ceremonial bowls marked with an axe symbol. Finding all five pops the trophy In the name of my kin and counts toward the Superstitious Charm set. The game also labels them Theseus’ Visions on the Charm type list, which is why older wiki drafts called them visions; IGN’s trophy text uses “Echoes”, which is what the in-game pop-up quotes. Either name refers to the same five chests.

Each Echo plays a short memory scene when Sophia interacts with the bowl — usually a short overheard conversation between Theseus and a soldier, or a fragment of Ariadne. The Charms themselves are passive: each Pierced Coin adds a slight chance to not empty the Focus Gauge on use, which is a quality-of-life perk rather than a build identity. The value of finding them all is the trophy and the five-stack Focus refund. For loadout rankings, see the charms tier list.

There are exactly five. None are missable: chapter select stays available after the credits and Charm progress saves on pickup, per the IGN trophy overview. You can also pick them up live on a first run without chapter select, because every Echo sits on the main path or one short side detour.

Locations (verified IGN, 27 August 2026 ruleset)

#ChapterCharm #Bowl location
1Chapter 5 — Desolation It WroughtCharm 5Top of the hill past the circular pronged symbol; interact with the bowl on the pedestal in front of the axe symbol.
2Chapter 6 — What Lies BeneathCharm 3First passage on the right of the steps near the labyrinth diorama; turn left through the unlocked door past Daedalus’s corpse.
3Chapter 7 — Death It SowedCharm 3After the light-beam reflection puzzle, swing across to the platform on the other side of the metal gate where the memory bowl podium sits.
4Chapter 9 — Night Has ComeCharm 2Crawlspace at the bottom of the wall immediately on the left after the stairs where the water room opens back outside.
5Chapter 10 — Parallel PathsCharm 3Inside Daedalus’s workshop — pull the counterweight, drop through the new floor opening, find the final bowl.

The Charm index in each chapter comes from IGN’s All Charm Locations. The full step-by-step text for each Echo is also on the collectibles guide.

What the memory scenes actually show

The five bowls are not interchangeable cutscenes. Each one ties to a different beat in the Ariadne-as-Theseus storyline:

  • Chapter 5 Echo is a quiet conversation: Theseus (Ariadne) speaking with a soldier just before a Minoan trial. The chapter ends with the Sophia-vs-Ariadne trial being the loudest version of that confrontation.
  • Chapter 6 Echo is the moment the dialogue system calls out by name. IGN’s walkthrough describes Ariadne and the memory bowl as the same voice Sophia will hear again later in the labyrinth.
  • Chapter 7 Echo plays inside the ruined arena Sophia also walks through. The two characters literally share a room two thousand years apart.
  • Chapter 9 Echo is the first Echo that surfaces inside a hostile sequence, which is why it is so easy to miss on the first pass. After lighting the brazier and squeezing through the doors, you reach the top of the stairs and there is a crawlspace on the left.
  • Chapter 10 Echo is the final bowl, inside Daedalus’s workshop itself. It lands at the bottom of the layered counterweight puzzle and rewards the player who already cleared the room once.

If you do not want to watch every memory, you still get the Charm. The Charm is the loot; the Echo is the framing.

The trophy: In the name of my kin

The in-game trophy text, quoted from the IGN Achievements list, reads:

Find all 5 Theseus’s Echoes throughout the game, which provide you with Pierced Coin Charms. These will be found in the ceremonial bowls with the axe symbol behind them.

It is a Bronze-tier trophy on PlayStation and a standard Steam achievement. There is no missable warning: collectible progress is saved on pickup and chapter select remains available after the credits. Pop it on credits if you found all five live; pop it on chapter select if you missed one.

Why these are not a build

Pierced Coins proc slightly to keep the Focus Gauge from emptying when you spend it. Five Pierced Coins is a five-stack of that proc, which is a small refund on every Focus ability use. It is not a build identity. It is the same thing as every other Charm type: a proc that increases with stacks. Rank it accordingly on the charms tier list. If you want a high-Focus build, look at the skills tier list instead — the Focus node on the Skill tree is the real lever.

How to route them

The fastest route is to play the game normally on any difficulty, then mop up with chapter select after the credits. PowerPyx’s standard for Asobo games is that chapter select carries Charm progress; IGN confirms the same here. If you are also going for Superstitious (all 30 Charms), there is no reason to skip a single chest in a chapter.

Live, slow down at five spots:

  1. End of Chapter 5, after the symbol-hub hill climb — kill the two soldiers, then bowl.
  2. Chapter 6 diorama area — first passage on the right, unlocked door.
  3. Chapter 7 light-beam puzzle platform — memory bowl across the metal gate.
  4. Chapter 9 water-room exit — crawlspace on the left.
  5. Chapter 10 workshop — counterweight puzzle, drop through the new floor.

That is every Echo. The trophy pops on the spot the fifth bowl is interacted with.

What this page is not

This is not a chapter walkthrough. It is not the Theseus character page, which covers who Ariadne-as-Theseus actually is and how the dual-timeline puzzle works. It is also not the charm tier list, which ranks every Charm type by value. It is a checklist page for a single trophy, with the bowl locations and the memory-scene context. The full per-chapter collectibles breakdown, including every other Charm and every Artefact, sits on the collectibles guide.

If you came here looking for the Like a Warrior math (the six Mastery branches and the Resonance Point spend), that is a different trophy, on a different page.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many Theseus's Echoes are there?

Five, exactly. One per ceremonial bowl in Chapters 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10. The trophy is named In the name of my kin.

Are Theseus's Echoes the same as Theseus' Visions?

Yes. IGN labels the Charm type Theseus' Visions on the All Charm Locations page and uses the name Theseus's Echoes on the Achievements page. Both names refer to the same five Pierced Coins.

What does the Pierced Coin Charm do?

It adds a slight chance to not empty the Focus Gauge when you spend Focus. Five Pierced Coins give you a five-stack of the proc. It is a quality-of-life perk, not a build identity.

Are any Echoes missable?

No. IGN's achievement overview states that chapter select remains available after the credits and Charm progress saves automatically on pickup. You can also pick them all up live because each bowl is on the main path or one short detour.

Do I need to watch the memory scene to get the Charm?

No. The Charm is added as soon as you interact with the bowl. The memory scene plays automatically and can be skipped.

Can I get the In the name of my kin trophy on a second playthrough?

Yes. Chapter select mop-up is supported, and Charm progress carries over. PowerPyx's standing for Asobo titles is that chapter select is the safe mop-up path.

Which Echo is hardest to find?

Chapter 9's. The crawlspace on the left at the top of the stairs looks like level geometry rather than a path. IGN flags it because the chapter is also a creature chase.

Does this trophy count for the Platinum?

Yes. All 36 base trophies roll up into The Sea Scorpion on PS5. There is no separate platinum task.
