Missable Trophies and Easter Eggs

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy has 37 trophies across platforms, 19 of which are secret or missable. Most collectibles can be recovered via chapter select after the credits, but several story-gated and time-window achievements can be permanently missed if you progress past their trigger points. This page lists every missable trophy, every secret achievement, and the easter eggs players have found in the first weeks after launch.

The only truly missable trophy

Like a Warrior requires 165 Resonance Points spent across all six skill branches and their Masteries in a single playthrough. The points themselves are not missable — chapter select restores pickup progress — but the spending must happen in one continuous save. If you spend 100 points, then reload Chapter 3 to grab missed Relics, your point total resets to 100 when you load that chapter. You cannot bank unspent points across chapter select transitions.

Prevention: Plan your skill spend before Chapter 3 and do not reload earlier chapters for collectibles until after you have bought all six Masteries. The skills page has a spend order.

Collectibles that reset on chapter select

Chapter select restores blades, charms, and artefacts to their original positions, but only if you have not yet picked them up in that chapter on your current save. Once picked up, they stay picked up regardless of chapter select. The collectibles page has the full per-chapter counts.

Resonance Points are the exception. Points on the ground save at checkpoints, not on pickup. If you die before reaching the next checkpoint, dropped points return to the floor. If you chapter-select backward, your total resets to what it was when you originally passed that chapter.

The remaining secret achievements relate to specific story decisions in Chapters 9 through 13 and are automatically triggered by story progression.

Easter eggs found in week one

The Turtle (Sea You Later!) — At the very start of Chapter 3, shortly after the boat docks, a turtle sits on the shoreline visible from the main path. Interacting with it plays a brief voice line. This is the Sea You Later trophy — it is not missable once you are in the area, but it is easy to walk past if you follow Leni immediately.

The Carnival Puppet Show — Chapter 2’s Venice carnival has a puppet theatre with a full 4-5 minute show. Standing through the entire show unlocks the Theater Enthusiast trophy. This is not missable as the theatre stays active throughout Chapter 2, but players who rush the carnival for combat skip it entirely.

The Plague Tale Callback — In Chapter 5, one of the tents contains a weathered cloth banner with the de Rune family crest. Players who have played Innocence and Requiem will recognise it. It is a lore callback, not a trophy or achievement.

The Requiem Sophia Portrait — In Chapter 11’s temple area, a small framed portrait on a side table shows an older Sophia with the Macula scars mentioned in Requiem’s lore. This is a visual callback to the later timeline.

Developer Credits Name Drop — The in-game artbook (from the Heritage Pack or purchasable separately) contains developer commentary with one entry mentioning the Zouna engine team by name. This is not in the base game artbook.

The Chapter 9 crash and saves

Steam Deck players report a crash at the start of Chapter 9 after the cutscene where the cave begins to collapse. The crash does not corrupt save data, but it can cause players to lose progress if they have not saved recently. Save before entering the Chapter 9 cave sequence and before the Sofia-Leni dialogue that triggers the collapse. The Steam Deck page has the workaround: manually save to a new slot before Chapter 9.

Time-limited story choices

No major story choices in Resonance are missable. The dual-timeline mechanic means some Theseus sequences have a time window to collect Pierced Coins before the timeline shifts, but chapter select after credits restores all bowl positions. There are no good/evil branches, no character death choices, and no timed dialogue sequences that affect trophies.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Like a Warrior missable?

Technically yes if you reload Chapter 3 after spending points. The points reset to that chapter's snapshot. Plan your skill spend before reloading earlier chapters for collectibles.

Can I recover missed collectibles after the credits?

Yes for blades, charms, and artefacts — chapter select restores their positions. Resonance Points reset on chapter select, which is why Like a Warrior is the real missable.

What is the Sea You Later trophy?

Interact with the turtle on the Chapter 3 shoreline shortly after the boat docks. Easy to walk past if you follow Leni immediately.

How do I get the Theater Enthusiast trophy?

Stand through the full puppet show in Chapter 2's Venice carnival. It takes 4-5 minutes. The theatre stays active throughout Chapter 2.

Are there any missable story choices?

No. Resonance has no good/evil branches and no timed dialogue that affects trophies. All story-gated achievements trigger automatically on story progression.
